What is Brazil Day DC?

It is a celebration of national proportions. Welcomed by the Brazilian community of Greater-Washington, Brazil Day DC is a cultural extravaganza that is certain to emerge as one of the most talked about Brazilian festivals in the country. Produced in partnership by the Amazonia Harvest Foundation and the Brazilian Consulate of Washington DC, the festival boasts an empowering mission to bring forth the best the Brazilian community of Greater-Washington has to offer and shine a spotlight on talented Brazilian performers, vendors, exhibitors and organizations that call the DC region home. Brazil Day DC 2011 is the place to be on Sunday, October 2, 2011.

This All-Day kick-off celebration will take place in one of the newly finished waterfront destinations in DC, Capitol Riverfront. Bring the family and enjoy a day full of rhythms, flavors and styles as you relax under a tree and soak in one of the most fascinating cultures on earth.

The 2011 All-Out celebration of the Brazilian culture will bring on stage some of the most talented Brazilian performers from all around the Greater-Washington region. There will also be floor demonstrations from local schools of Capoeira and Jiu-Jitsu. What are the River Excursions like?

Several relaxing excursions will leave from the pier next to the park and will cover a picturesque stretch of the Potomac River. No trip to our national capital is complete without a view from the waters of the iconic Potomac River.
